Summary: Nicola Maiden and Gerard Cole have been murdered while camping in the bucolic countryside of northern England. Complicating matters for the local constabulary is Nicola's father, Andy Maiden, a recently retired detective. Calling in Detective Inspector Thomas Lynley is the obvious solution.
