He married Anna Elisabetha Filbert, daughter of Johann Samuel Filbert (1710-1786) and Maria Suzanna, in 1763. They had seven children. He died in 1815 in Tulpehocken Township, Berks, Pennsylvania. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Pennsylvania.
